‘Tis the Season in San Saba
We may not have a white Christmas here in Texas, but the magic of the season has certainly found its way to San Saba. The Pecan Capital of the World is especially charming this time of year. So mark your calendars for December 11, 2021 because San Saba has wrapped up its joyous festivities and decorative displays into a Christmas Extravaganza you don’t want to miss!
Welcome Daytripper
New to the celebrations this year is a visit from Chet Garner, better known as The Daytripper. Excited to visit our corner of the world again, The Daytripper will be at the Pecan House Grill at 1:00 pm on December 11th to kick off the festivities with a friendly meet and greet. What an excellent opportunity to meet the famous explorer that has been navigating his way through every unique town across the Lone Star State for over ten years now. Chet will also be strolling around during the day and joining the Lighted Christmas Parade all thanks to CTTC.
Sip N’ Stroll
Following the Daytripper and back by popular demand is the 8th Annual Sip N’ Stroll Wine Tasting from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Nine Texas Hill Country wineries, including San Saba’s own Wedding Oak Winery, will be offering tastings and sales as you stroll through the beautifully decorated businesses in downtown San Saba. Receive 10 wine tastings with every ticket purchase.
Christmas Parade
One of the town’s longest-standing traditions is the San Saba Lighted Christmas Parade. Featuring festively garnished floats that loop around the historic San Saba courthouse, the parade is an opportunity for the town to mingle and show off its creativity. Previous favorites have been lawnmowers dressed as Christmas trees and a visit from Santa himself! Families, neighbors, and visitors will line the downtown streets for the parade, beginning at 6:30 pm.
Dancing Lights at Mill Pond Park
A true sight to see in the Texas Hill Country are the Dancing Lights at Mill Pond Park. Annually awarded one of the best Christmas lights displays in Texas, the Dancing Lights feature over one million shimmering lights, choreographed to Christmas classics, covering several acres of stunning waterfront property. Walk or drive through the trail, illuminated with light tunnels, dancing trees, and a big Texas flag. But don’t fret if your December schedule is packed, the lights will shine from Thanksgiving night through January 6, 2022, from dusk till 10:00 pm.
Santa in San Saba
Ho Ho Ho! Santa never misses his holiday visit to San Saba. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, he and Mrs. Clause will be taking photos and granting Christmas wishes. Don’t miss your opportunity to get that iconic Santa picture!
Traditional Nativity
Completing the Christmas celebration, a beautiful nativity scene will again be placed on San Saba’s courthouse lawn. This display keeps the spirit of tradition alive and is a wonderful addition to San Saba’s Christmas Extravaganza.
