Swingin’ into Spring – Golfing In San Saba

Nothing beats a round of golf on a gorgeous course in mild spring weather. On cool spring mornings, we head to the greens of the San Saba Golf Course. San Saba’s 18-hole municipal golf course is widely revered for its difficult play and spectacular beauty. The San Saba River Golf Course has been voted one of the best places to play six years running by Golf Digest and has earned a 3.5-star rating in their ranking system. (Not bad for a course in a town of 3,000.) The course is designed for challenging play with tight fairways, grass traps and bunker-less ponds. As beautiful as it is challenging, the course plays through a forest of 2,600 pecan trees alongside the San Saba River and offers stunning views.

April is a big month for the golf course as our tournament series commence on April 22. Tournaments run each month through October, with each month having a slightly different structure from four-person scrambles to two-person scrambles and more. All tournament reservations can be made through the San Saba River Golf Course website.
