Aloha San Saba: Catkins Ball 2019
The Catkins Ball, a fundraiser benefiting San Saba’s economic development and tourism endeavors, is a beloved San Saba tradition. The ball is named for the catkin flower – a stringy green bud which resembles fluffy caterpillars and descends from the thousands of pecan trees that make San Saba the “Pecan Capital of the World.”
Now in its 12th year, the Catkins Ball, comes to life in Risien Park under a canopy of catkins. The evening brings out San Saba’s finest for our favorite event of the year. Guests can expect live music, great food, plenty of drinks, a live auction and great people.
A canopy of catkins in Risien Park is the setting for our posh annual fundraiser. The 2019 theme is Aloha San Saba, a blend of San Saba’s famous Texan hospitality and Hawaiian-style fun! Curious about how to mix black tie with tiki? Check out a few of our favorite looks.
For tickets, check the website. The fun kicks off on Friday night (April 26) with a guest reception from 6 PM to 8 PM at Wedding Oak Winery. Saturday (April 27) festivities begin at 5:30 PM with Cocktail Hour in Risien Park. Dinner starts at 7 PM, followed by a live auction at 8 PM and dancing at 9 PM.
Proceeds from ticket sales and the auctions assist the city and county in revitalization and restoration projects designed to make San Saba an attractive destination for historical tourism.
